Rio Bravo Children’s Home
Around twenty years ago, former teacher Ray Hansen and his wife, Leah, were led by God to cross the boarder of Texas into the city of Reynosa, Mexico and begin ministering to orphans and children of single mothers with the Good News of Jesus Christ and with a quality education. Since then, Rio Bravo has grown into a children’s home that houses nearly 100 children and a school that educates nearly 300. Many children who came to Rio Bravo as toddlers are now graduates of the school and have entered college or obtained quality jobs.
Each year, members of Byhalia UMC team up with Collierville UMC to spend a week at Rio Bravo doing repairs additions to the campus will ministering to the children. This year’s trip is scheduled for October 27-November 4. If you would like more information about the trip, contact Bill Sikma at 901-262-7716.
